The recent news breaking about Sean Comb’s violence towards women reminds me that sometimes we wear colored goggles when we look back on relationships. But when we take those off and face the truth, that’s when we find the path forward. It inspired me to write a poem about this subject.
All the pretty people
And all the pretty things
Will never help you
Put it together again
It’s ugly once it’s ugly
That’s all it’ll ever be
There’s one way to escape it
Go climb a tree.
Stand tall amongst the branches
Feeling safe as you can be
The joy of no hesitation
Colors all that you can see
Keep gazing up instead of down
Embrace your life, it’s all around!
The branches will support your life
Now that you are no longer a wife
Gaze down at what is over
See how little it can be
And when your lovely mind is cleared
Together YOU will BE
We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together! And check out my book, “Restarting Your Life When You Are. No Longer A Wife” I wrote it just for you!
