Your Life Is Now

“Your life is now your life is now your life is now.  In this undiscovered moment, lift your head up above the crowd. ” – John Mellencamp

Your life is now.  Have you thought about it that way lately?  Let’s talk a bit about thoughts since they both plague us and motivate us.

Thoughts are things.  New thoughts with strong feelings become new things. This is the process by which we create our realities.

When my relationship ended, I gave up a lot of things.  A quarter-century of items were divided.  I pretty much fought for nothing.  I had a “just take it” attitude.

Part of this was fear of more conflict with him.  I had no fight left.  No matter what the reason, this turned out to be a fantastic, healing decision.  If thoughts are indeed associated with memories of items we purchased together, or found on a vacation, etc. then it would’ve been emotionally stagnating for me to fill my own home with those material things.

I was in a new place, with a few things I cherished and that was it!  I loved my empty kitchen shelves! (nothing to dust!)  I’ve shared how I eventually created a small, sacred space of my own in my new place. (See: “How to Create Your Sacred Space” post of 9/14/15)  I still have that, and I love my time there.  It’s a place I get in touch with my inner self.  “She” is still healing, and sometimes has fear and self-doubt and overwhelm.  But you know what they say, “The first part of solving your problems is facing them.”

Do you feel stuck?  Are you waiting for profound life changes that aren’t happening?  Then I have a question for you.

Have you parked your doubts and fears on a shelf?  Instead of a Sacred Space filled with the things you cherish and dream of, have you filled it with Put-Off Dreams and I’ll Do This Somedays?  Uh-oh.

If that’s the case, then I ask you this: Why are you doing this?  Your life is your own now and you can’t even mentally put a few things on a theoretical shelf?  It’s okay. I’m pointing this out to you so you can see it and maybe decide to really get going.  I hope you do.  Because by doing this, you will emotionally stick your head up above the clouds!  And when you do, you can create an entirely new reality for yourself!

I know we are all out of practice because we spent a good part of our lives trying to give joy to our mate.  That was a thankless and exhausting job.  This will be a soul-filling and exhilarating task.  So stop the lollygagging!  Your life is now.

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
