Ringing Out the Pain: A New Year’s Resolution

Ringing in a New Year seems daunting when starting a new life around the age of fifty, but there is a solution: think of this first week of 2019 as wringing out the pain week.  Every drop of past-it’s-expiration-date sadness cannot be left inside of our souls, souring the year ahead.

Don’t cling to the “What Kind of Bastard Would Do that’s?” and “I’m Never Going To Stop Stalking His Facebook Page” type of 2018 yuck.

Throw it away! Bells cannot ring anew in joy if there is still an echo of past ugly words ringing through the neighborhood.  Move off of “I Live In The Past Alley” to “Fabulous Life Avenue”, “I’m Rocking’ It Road,” onto “Badass Boulevard.”    A mansion of dreams waits there, with open doors and windows.  Fab wood floors and non-toxic furniture.  Not a single vestige of harsh words and accusations tarnish the floorboards.  No “tear damage” stains on some yellowed wallpaper.

Newness of New Years no longer has to frighten any woman who has been through the wringer of divorce.  The mailbox on “Starting Over Lane” is going to be packed with social invites as folks you’ve never met meet the 2019 version. Who is she?

New Kids On The Block are back on tour and so are you! You are the New Chick on the Block.

Let them peak out their front windows and spy a fabulous, confident gal-on-the-go. The only thing you will be stalking in 2019 are new experiences.

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through Leftat50.com, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
