“In nature, we are quietly given countless models of how to give ourselves over to what appears dark and hopeless, but which ultimately is an awakening that is beyond all imagining. This moving through the dark into blossom is the threshold to God.”
“As a seed buried in the Earth cannot imagine itself as an orchid or a hyacinth, neither can a heart packed with hurt imagine itself loved or at peace. The courage of the seed is that once cracking, it cracks all the way.” – The Book of Awakening, Mark Nepo
I found this beautiful passage this morning and thought it would perhaps touch upon some of the thoughts us Leftat50s are feeling. Here in California, nature is blossoming and my soul is longing to feel itself a part of something. How lovely to realize, that as a human being on this planet, I am part of the nature that is all around me. If I can look past the darkness that I sometimes feel trapped in, I too can imagine myself as an orchid or a hyacinth, or any one of the beautiful flowers that make up this planet. So if I feel gloomy or alone today, or thinking of past Easters or Passovers spent with people who are no longer in my life, I just need to choose to move from the dark into blossom.
Such a lovely thought!
And a much better headspace to occupy. So today, try to focus on whatever is blooming in your life. And celebrate it!
We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
