My Women’s March on Washington Decision: Wow!

I’ve spent a lot of my life learning the history of the Women’s Movement, and learning the names of all the brave women who came before to stand up for their rights.

“Then it hit me:💡I don’t have to just watch this on TV. There is nothing stopping me from actually going there and marching too!”👟👟

When I heard about the Women’s March On Washington on January 21, 2017, I thought, “Wow, it’s really exciting that women are uniting together to do this!” They are joining in diversity on my behalf to show that our presence in numbers is too great to ignore. I was happy to “see what was gonna happen” and “how many women would show up.”

Then it hit me: I don’t have to just watch this on TV. There is nothing stopping me from actually going there and marching too! And you know what? The MOMENT I made that decision, and let others know of it, amazing things started happening!💥

I was able to use my miles to book a flight for free.✈️An old friend from high school volunteered to let me stay with her and get me from the airport. Suddenly, less than twenty-four hours after I had a tiny thought that I could do that, I am doing that.

Every woman that I tell is so inspired and excited for me. They are asking what they can do to help. How they can march in their own neighborhoods.

Women are inspiring me to go do this. There is no limit to their enthusiasm on my behalf.

And the more women I tell of my decision, the more women are making the decision too! It’s all very exciting. So, I’m planning on what to pack. I’m packing my power-gulping mega vitamins, and wearing my most comfy walking shoes to join with my sisters from all walks of life to let our voices be heard. One of the first times a gathering of this magnitude took place was the Women’s Suffrage Parade, March 3, 1913. Now it’s my turn to let my own voice to be heard. Arm in arm with my Sister-Marchers.

It all started with one little, “I wonder if I could…” thought. Do you have one of those floating around in your head? If so, I think you get my drift. To quote a very famous man who’s been living in the White House for the last eight years, “Yes, you can!”

I’ll be keeping you posted on this latest journey. Keep me posted on yours.🌄

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery.
