You need to pick a shore.
You’ve been treading water for too long. When you were left, you may have felt like you were in the middle of the ocean. You could not see which way to go. Maybe you are still there now. Treading, treading. And you are exhausted from it. You know all you have to do is make a decision. The decision to stop treading. To make a choice. Pick a shore and start swimming to it. As fast as you can. You DO have a sense of direction. You might not feel that way today, but you do. Deep inside you have an innate sense that you can pull yourself out of the water, step onto the sand and find your own shelter. You can nurture yourself. And you will be so well fed. You will be fuller than you have been for ages. Satisfied. The Good Kind of Tired. The kind that leads to the most refreshing sleep of your life.
All those nights. Lonely. Waiting for him to come home. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn’t. And the helplessness of not knowing if you should bring it up, or once again, let it go. That is over now. Thank God. You have a New Life opportunity. To really breathe for once. To stretch your limbs in every direction. To let go of all the tension. You don’t have to live all bound up. So set yourself free. You deserve it.
When the sunlight glints on the water, many times a rainbow appears. You have a rainbow now. I know you can see it. It stretches from one end to the other of your New Horizon. Smile at it. Take all the colors in. They all live inside you. Let them fill you up like never before. And when you know you are so full you are about to burst from the beauty of it, let them out into the world. Let your rainbow stretch from your heart and out into the world. You are a New Woman now. You are above the water and out of the sea and you are in control of every step that you now take. So stop treading. And start walking. Maybe we’ll meet on the path.
