As you Leftat50’s know, I like to make up words just for us and today I came up with “petal-abilities”! Here’s the tale of how that new expression happened:
There are tons of trees in my neighborhood that are dormant even though it is April. The trees all around them have leaves.
The surrounding flowers are pushing themselves up from the ground, dreaming of the “Petal-bilities” of Spring!
But there are several trees this year that are nothing but bark. There is no evidence that any greenery is emerging at all. They are standing there in the spring sunshine completely barren. Looking dead in the spring time, which seems so wrong!
It got me to thinking. There was a stage after I was left where I remained dormant. Stuck in my old life. Partially due to the fact I was still in the house we shared, but also because I was so down. I didn’t see any reason to put branches on my leaves and let birds nest there again.
And so, how are you doing this springtime? Are your branches sprouting new life? Or are you remaining dormant, waiting for some reason to bloom? You are the reason.
We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery.
