Old Footprints Cannot Be Stepped Through

If you’ve ever walked on a sandy beach, footprints disappear the second the next wave comes and washes them away. This is a life lesson when dealing with divorce.

Even painful endings can sometimes beckon us back.

For reasons we cannot make sense of, there is a yearning to seek out past footprints even though we know they were the opposite of indelible.

Luckily, Life beckons us forward.

We cannot relive yesterday today as if we are in that same moment.

Thank goodness. Wounded hearts take time to heal. In the meantime, you may have dysfunctional thoughts.

Let them be. Take action steps instead. Get off Breakup Beach. Find solid ground that supports you. Get into action. The healthy kind. Not the unhealthy kind.

Like calling him or texting him or spying on his Facebook. These are the sandy shores you must abandon. Make this pact with yourself today.

There are many life-affirming actions we can all be taking right now.

Don’t reject today’s new version of you. Embrace her and find what she can do to make her life and this world a better place. Make some fresh footprints!

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together! And check out my book, “Restarting Your Life When You Are. No Longer A Wife” I wrote it just for you!
