Old Footprints Cannot Be Stepped Through

If you’ve ever walked on a sandy beach, footprints disappear in the second that the next wave comes to wash it away. This is a life lesson when dealing with divorce.

Even painful endings can sometimes beckon us back.

For reasons we cannot make sense of, there is a yearning to seek out past footprints even though we know they were the opposite of indelible.

Life beckons us forward in that it gives us no choice. We cannot relive yesterday today as if we are in that same moment. Thank goodness. Wounded brains take time to heal. And in the meantime, you may have dysfunctional thoughts.

Let them be. Take action steps instead. Get off Breakup Beach. Find solid ground that supports you and get into action. We are going through massive global change from the inside out. From a virus that will not subside due to the actions of humans who refuse to wear a mask and social distance.

Much like them, women in a fresh breakup think they can play by their own made-up rules even though their actions will end up in failure.

Like calling him or texting him or spying on his Facebook. These are the sandy shores you must abandon. Make this pact with yourself today.

There are many life-affirming actions we can all be taking right now. Don’t reject today’s new version of you. Embrace her and find what she can do to make her life and this world a better place.

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
