Eat A Red Apple Day! But First Eat The Rotten One

Yes, December 1st is National Eat A Red 🍎 Day. But before you reach for that fresh shiny one, I have an idea. Eat the rotten one that is stinking up your emotional pantry. What I mean is that thought that your ex still thinks about you. The way you think about him. That. That is the rotten apple. The bruised one. It’s been sitting there for awhile now. In that dark place where you still hold old hopes that are wayyyy past their expiration date.

Oh, Honey. Those “maybe he will see how wrong he was” late night thoughts. Those, “you never knows” and “stranger things have happeneds.”

Apple.”

It’s time. I know you want to hold on to them. But if you bought a dozen apples and one was rotten, you would not want that one in your fruit bowl, now would you?

I have an unorthodox idea. Because we are in an unorthodox life situation. Let’s pretend all of our painful memories are symbolized by that Rotten Apple. Do you see it? Good. Now I want you to take that apple and eat it. Now. Eat it. One bite or five bites or whatever it takes to get it down. Visualize

yourself eating it. You’ve eaten rotten things before. Emotional and physical. And you’ve been just fine, haven’t you?

Now that you’ve eaten the Rotten Apple, you can reach that perfect Top of the Tree Apple. The one you’ve deserved all along. Take that big, juicy bite. And celebrate Red Apple Day. Because they not only keep the doctor away, they fill you up with the hope of more delicious choices to make and more shiny days to come.
