Why are you crying? Each Tear That Falls Is A Dream Deferred

Why are you crying?  Were you Left a bit ago but are still having weep-fests and don’t know why? There is an answer. It came to me after a few hundred buckets had been filled.

Each tear that falls, is a dream deferred.

This means that though you think those are buckets of break up tears, there is a point where the shock/pain crying ends and the realization/pain begins.

What’s the realization/pain? That you’ve defered  many dreams and now you certainly are too old to attain them. My dear Leftat50’s, we are so alike!

It was with supreme trepidation that I gathered up those spilled dreams and started acting on them. Some were so coated in dust, they were almost hidden! Determination is what swept the dust away. That, and the whole “deciding not to be afraid anymore” thing.

When I chose to act on those dreams, the fear went away. When notions became reality, certain long-held beliefs fell away.   I now refer to them as “the cant’s.”  With age comes wisdom, and it became apparent that not all of those dreams were a good fit for my life anymore. Acting upon the ones that were a good fit, the real gut-check dreams, helped me restore my faith in myself. That is what my Ex really took when he left me.

However, a new dream-maker started to grow inside of me once the person that kept stomping on my heart had left the building. Another never-in-a- million-years unexpected perk!

If you are still using up too much Kleenex, it’s okay. Look at what’s really happening in every corner of your psyche. You will find you are not as wounded as you think because you’ve gone from being a Wife to being your own Fairy Godmother! All you need to decide is which dream do you want to become a reality first?

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
