When I was left, especially those first few months, I kept thinking about what HE was doing, Right Then, at that second. Was he puzzling through this break-up the same way I was? Did he even know why he made this choice? The specifics…I wanted THE SPECIFICS. I thought if I could find those out, I could get my head around this life change and make some sense of the ache.
Of course that conversation never happened. WHY did I think he would ever sit down across from me and explain things?
Little by little, the hurt turned into anger. And anger is never a good thing. To stew in it, all alone, in the middle of the night and not be able to do anything with it! So, I had to force myself to say goodbye to My Best Friend Anger.
