When you are left at 50, it’s easy to look back at who you were and pine for the past. But deep inside, you know that doing so will get you nowhere. You are no longer the woman in that “30 years ago” circumstance. And that’s just great. You know who you are now. You are where you need to be to move on into your New, Happy Life.
The stories that came before, especially the being left part, don’t have to define you today. They are woven into the fabric of you, for sure. But you need to keep adding on to a different quilt. The New Quilt of Your Future. Think of fashioning the patches to represent today. And each and every day, as you make new patches, the ones that represent Inner Strength, Confidence in Yourself, the New You you see in the mirror now, these will become the quilt that will keep you warm as your life goes on. Tender memories of You to wrap Yourself in. You are no longer “The Woman Who Was Dumped.” “The Participant in All Those Fights That Solved Nothing.”
You get to let go of all of that. Each and every day you ARE letting go of that. You don’t have to wrap yourself in the “stories that came before” the New You. You get to Unfold Your Own Myth. Dwell there.
We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
