Why Have I been Carrying Purses for Fifty-Three Years?

Fifty-three years.  That’s how long I’ve been carrying purses. I’m sick of it.  From the little white “communion” purse I carried on Sundays as a child, to the thing that hangs off my left shoulder every day of my current life.

We all need to carry our cellphones, right? So a purse is a must.  But women’s purses are so big now, it’s like they are carrying a piece of luggage!  Do we need to lug all this stuff?

Before we leave to go anywhere what must we do? Check our purse.  Do we have our tissue, our snack, our lipstick, a brush, dental floss, phone cord, small pen, extra cord in case we lose our cord, ID, credit cards, ATMs, insurance cards and on and on.

It’s like every time we step outside our homes, we are prepared to never return. No wonder the incidence of heart disease in women keeps going up!

Why are we doing this to ourselves? There has to be an easier way.

Can’t women’s clothes all have pockets the way most men’s clothes do? A skirt can easily have one.  So could many dresses.  Heck, there could be a zippered place inside all those wide belts that are in style now.

Fashion Industry: please make women’s lives easier!

So long face blotters and old sticks of gum! Ditch that toothbrush.  Do you know how much disgusting bacteria is in your purse?  No to the small bottle of breath spray, the deodorant wipes and the glasses cleaning tissues.  Leave it home!

Ladies On The Go: please ditch at least half these items. Clear your mind of all impending catastrophes. Lighten your loads today and walk free.   You can do it!

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end. Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
