I have coined a new term Hastaggeration: This is where you are using “hashtags” that make you look better than you are actually feeling. Like #wonderfulday!, #I’masuperstar!, anything like that. In truth the hashtag Iloveme! is used to try to build yourself up, so that other people don’t know that you actually stick your tongue out at yourself in the mirror..and then you judge your tongue. (Pink enough? Too long? Is that a bump back there?)
You don’t want to put your true feelings in hashtags, right? #Oldandwrinkled, #neverleavemyapartment #ateatuboficecream last night, and things of this nature. So, it’s better to hashtaggerate!
Since we can’t be hash tagging our neuroses, what ARE we doing? We are spending tons of hours #lying. To ourselves and others. It’s the old habit of, “How am I? Great!” “Nothing wrong here!” As if our lives are nothing but limo rides and Grade A sushi! This is where all of this constantly having to be posting statuses has gotten us. We are now a bunch of liars.
Being fake is what’s real. On the daily! How did THAT happen? And why do all of us participate so willingly? Does it truly make us feel better? If it does, then I say hashtag away! We are allowed to use up to thirty, right? Seems like a lot of work, but hey, if thirty is the Instagram limit, then lets hashtag it up!

Actually I have no plans. I’m probably gonna #GeorgeFormanGrill some turkey dogs, and try out a “dry” coleslaw recipe. Now I understand Hashtaggeration. The truth is dull as dirt!
