George Michael: Keeping “Faith”

George Michael’s untimely passing is resonating all over the world.🌍Beautiful remembrances from friends and fans paint a picture of a kind but troubled man.

In reading lyrics to some of his biggest hits, one thing resonates: he was all about love. Finding love, getting over lost love, holding on to love. And letting it go. All of his songs🎧seem to combine sadness and hope.

“Well, I need someone to hold me, but I’ll wait for something more.”

This is a good reminder for all of us. Those who have been left in one way or another, have to go on. After the sadness clears, and it will, hope returns. It’s that little light in the flicker of a holiday candle. It’s the sparkle of holiday lights and tinsel.

He believed in not settling for less in ways I know you can relate to. He was gonna think twice before he gave his heart away. That’s a lyric I still relate to.

So on the cusp of a new year, the song “Faith” is a good reminder not to settle. “Well, I need someone to hold me, but I’ll wait for something more.”💜

This strange year is coming to a close. It’s time to move on in a myriad of ways. Not to forget, but to move past. To look for the sliver of golden light coming through the crack in the door to the new life that beckons all of us. We just need to put our hand on that door🚪and fearlessly walk through knowing that our faith will guide us.

That’s why you gotta have it.

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
