In reading lyrics to some of his biggest hits, one thing resonates: he was all about love. Finding love, getting over lost love, holding on to love. And letting it go. All of his songs🎧seem to combine sadness and hope.

This is a good reminder for all of us. Those who have been left in one way or another, have to go on. After the sadness clears, and it will, hope returns. It’s that little light in the flicker of a holiday candle. It’s the sparkle of holiday lights and tinsel.
He believed in not settling for less in ways I know you can relate to. He was gonna think twice before he gave his heart away. That’s a lyric I still relate to.

This strange year is coming to a close. It’s time to move on in a myriad of ways. Not to forget, but to move past. To look for the sliver of golden light coming through the crack in the door to the new life that beckons all of us.
