“Future Husband” Planning: Is Your New Life Really Your Own?

Is your New Life Really Your Own?

Hmmm, I am wondering if somewhere in the back off your mind, when you are moving into the new abode, you are secretly thinking of it as a “temporary home” while you look for Future Husband.  If you are doing this, guess what I suggest?  It’s time to clean out the back of your mind.

You have been “Leftat50” (or so) to live life on your own terms, perhaps for the first time in decades.  It’s a scary prospect, but believe this: you have a right to finally live in the space that has ALWAYS BEEN MEANT FOR YOU.

So Ladies, you must stop secretly planning in your heart of hearts for the day when Mr. Wonderful gallantly arrives in your life and you get to “show everybody” how amazing you are because you are attached to a new man’s arm.  The Perfect Man’s arm.

(Note: Since there is no such thing as a Perfect Man, I will refer to him for the rest of this blog as “PM”)

Don’t get mad at me.  This is not to say PM is not out there. The focus of this post is to encourage you to go all in on yourself.  Take it from Diane, when you start living your own life, a million things will change, including who you think your PM is!  Because you are going to change.  I know it’s overwhelming to even figure out how to start such a thing.  So let’s simplify this huge task as much as we can.  Think of Starting Your Life like joining a new gym, at which you are the only Instructor.  You will create daily “exercises” that will make you feel good for once, and you will want to keep doing these things.

And your mindset will guide you in such a way that all those fantasies you created in your head will become realities.  The realties you were meant to live.

Whatever your goals are, just fantasize about where accomplishing those goals will take you.  The new experiences, the confidence shift you will feel as you climb your own Life Ladder!  You will stand on the top rung gazing down at all you have ascended from!  And that old PM?  He won’t be good enough for you! Ha!  The Last Thing you’d want is to settle for that old version of Perfect Man!

Let your Accomplishments be on your arm.  Well, maybe with a new Marc Jacobs bag, but you know what I mean.

We all go through major life transitions when relationships end… Through this website, I will share my thoughts as I walk the path of “New-Self” discovery. It doesn’t matter which side of 50 you are on. The real question is, Are you ready to live life? To forge a Path of Your Own Making (For a change!)? Then stop dwelling over the What-Might-Have-Beens and join me. Share your thoughts here, comment on mine, and let’s do this together!
